Omaha Steel’s heat treat processes meet the stringent standards you demand, and our heat treat furnaces comply with the specifications your industry requires. Our furnaces undergo regular surveying and comply with AMS 2750E, API 6A, and MIL-STD 1684 D standards.

Our heat treat equipment consists of an in-line furnace specifically designed for homogenizing and normalizing alloyed steels up to 1,850°F. The in-line furnace provides direct water quench in less than 10 seconds. The quench in this controlled process ensures the desired microstructure for your alloy steels each and every time. We also operate a large car bottom furnace for normalizing and tempering, meeting both Class 2 and Class 5 furnace requirements.

Corrosion Resistance and Stainless Steel

Omaha Steel has the expertise for meeting your corrosion-resistant and stainless alloy needs. We operate a strategically placed Lindberg box furnace and achieve solution anneals with water quench in less than 60 seconds. This furnace executes uniform heat treating to 2,150°F and meets Class 5 furnace requirements. You can rest assured your products will meet the corrosion-resistant properties your products require in the field.

Omaha Steel also operates two tempering furnaces, providing us additional capacity coupled with precise control. Both furnaces support the varying temperatures needed for precise tempering. Omaha Steel creates castings that meet the precise mechanical properties your products require.

Our strategically placed water quench system ensures your products get quenched within the required time frame each and every time. Omaha Steel monitors and controls the water temperature for a constant quench rate, cycle to cycle. The quench rate of the water circulation process has been tested to ensure the depth of hardness and microstructure meets your specifications.

Our daily auditing of the processing pumps guarantees the pumping efficiency is within the required pressures. We record every load’s quench hardness, providing you with the confidence that Omaha Steel consistently meets your demands and requirements.
